Welcome to the Westville Public Library website. The Library is a valuable community resource center, providing excellent services including reading materials, ebooks and audio books, online resources, programming, etc. as we continue to adapt to the public’s ever-changing needs and technologies.  The next Book Sale is August 21 & 22.  See below for details!

Please be courteous! If you sign up for a program and are unable to attend, call the Library and let us know.  Most programs have limited seating.  Also notify the Library if your child is allergic to any foods so refreshments can be adjusted accordingly.
U of I Extension Program:  Eating Smart, Being Active

August 7, 14, 21, 28 and September 4, 11

Six one-hour programs presented by the University of Illinois Extension Office. The Eating Smart, Being Active lessons focus on eating fewer calories, making smart food choices, and being physically active for a healthy weight, reduce the risk of chronic disease, and promote overall health.  Each hands-on lesson includes a physical activity and samples of healthy foods.

The Library also has many cookbooks and health books available to borrow!
Afternoon Movie Matinee: Wednesday September 2, 2:00 pm
 

Magic in the Moonlight: Acclaimed magician Stanley Crawford (Academy Award Winner® Colin Firth) dazzles his audiences with feats of supernatural amazement. But when it comes to the inexplicable, Stanley is a dedicated skeptic. Enter Sophie Baker (Emma Stone), psychic, soothsayer, and stunning seductress. As Stanley and Sophie embark on misadventures up and down the French Riviera, will they discover proof of a world beyond the laws of physics or have they fallen under the sway of a more earthly chemistry?

Afternoon Movie Matinees are for adults 18+. Light refreshments served.
Movie starts at 2:00 pm.  Reservations required.
The Library has many movies, TV Series, and documentaries available to borrow!  Loan period is 1 week, items may be renewed.

It's Story Time Again!  Featuring the antics of Grumpy Bird and Boo Hoo Bird - two adorable, entertaining stories by author Jeremy Tankard.  Storytime features stories, crafts, and light refreshments.

Lots of Bargains!  Our book sales are in the building directly behind the Library. 
Simply follow the sidewalk on the north side of the building around to the back.
Monday Night Knitting Club: Mondays 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
A Knitting Club meets at the Library on Mondays,  from 5:00 - 7 pm. For newbies or the experienced . . . stay a little or the entire time . . . bring your projects or start something new!  The Library also has a selection of craft books available for check out!

If you're new to knitting, the Knitting Club recommends this starter project to learn how to make a dish cloth -  Recommended materials to bring: a skein of Sugar & Cream yarn (white, yellow, or cream), and a pair of Size 10 knitting needles, 10" in length.
Robert G. Biage Memorial Chess Club: on hiatus until further notice
The Chess Club is geared for any skill level from beginner to expert. 

We are looking for new members as well as a volunteer to run the club!
Come to play chess - be sure to bring a friend! Tournament style chess boards and pieces are available to use in the library, as well as two timers. 
If you need to polish up your game or want to learn, be sure to check out our chess books!
IHLS We are a member of the Illinois Heartland Library System, which allows us to serve you better! Items may be requested from other libraries in the system, which further expands the variety of materials available to the public.
